Gone are the days when you had to dig up drain pipes to fix them. It was messy business, and often involved damage to gardens, landscapes and driveways, not to mention, remedial costs. Trenching pipe repair also involved more workers, so the overall cost was significant for property owners.
Nowadays, the pipe relining method provides a more affordable and durable option. You can fix a drain by creating a strong new pipe inside the old one. The installation process is quick and tidy, and the rejuvenated pipes last decades.

This is our step-by-step process for drain pipe relining in Sydney, Wollongong and Sutherland Shire:
We check out the inside of the pipe using a CCTV drain camera to assess what’s causing the pipe blockage or collapse.
As we feed the camera through the pipes, we watch the footage in real time. This shows us if pipe relining is the right solution (it usually is).
We thoroughly flush out any debris using a high-pressure water jet. This ensures the epoxy-resin liner will fit snugly within the pipe.
We also cut out any obstructions, such as tree roots, using a robotic cutting tool.
We measure the damaged pipe section to ensure an exact fit for the liner, then commence the lining process.
We use the Brawoliner pipe relining system, which involves placing a flexible fiberglass or polyester liner saturated with epoxy resin into the existing pipe.
We inflate the liner so it firmly fits within the walls of the existing pipe.
We step back and wait for the resin to cure.
Usually, ambient temperature is enough to cure the new pipe, but sometimes we use hot water or steam to speed things up.
When the pipe is cured, we get out the CCTV camera again. We check that the new pipe is completely sealed and is in the right position.
The job is complete! You have a new and long-lasting pipe that’s resistant to corrosion and tree root intrusion.

A range of pipes are candidates for relining, including stormwater pipes, underground pipelines, stormwater pipes and pipes of different shapes and sizes. In particular, old pipes can be replaced with this method.
No. In some cases we can’t use the pipe relining method, as the pipe may be too challenging to access, may be extremely small, may be too heavily obstructed, or may have already caved in. In these cases, a completely new HDPE or PVC pipe may need to be installed, which we can do.
It’s not necessary. We generally work from specific access points such as cleanouts or inspection pits, so you don’t need to go anywhere.
Once cured, the epoxy resin pipes are considered stable, and won’t leach toxins into the surrounding soil. In fact, these new pipes are far less likely to allow contaminants to leak into the soil than older-style pipes, which had leakable seams.
As for the odour of the resin: we suggest residents close toilets and sinks, and keep windows shut until the curing process is over (2-12 hours). The smell isn’t too intense, but it’s preferable to avoid it.
